At Elevita, we believe that every artisan deserves the opportunity to share their talents with the world. Our newest artisan partnership with RiseRahama in Uganda is a wonderful example of how access to opportunity can create a lasting impact, reaching beyond individual artisans to strengthen families and communities.
In November 2025, Elevita’s founders had the opportunity to meet Grace Ninsiima, a single mother whose journey of perseverance, education, and hard work inspired her to help other women build brighter futures. Having experienced firsthand how education and opportunity can change the course of a life, Grace wanted to help create those same opportunities for women in her community.
With encouragement from Elevita, Grace established RiseRahama, a growing community of women developing their skills, creating beautiful handmade products, and earning an income through their craft. Within just a few months, the group had grown to provide work for more than 30 women, creating new possibilities for artisans and their families.
Through RiseRahama, women put their creativity and craftsmanship into a variety of handmade pieces, including woven goods, crocheted items, and handcrafted nativity sets. Each creation reflects the time, skill, and care the artisans bring to their work, drawing on materials and techniques rooted in their local community.
But RiseRahama represents more than the products these women create. It is a community where artisans can learn from one another, develop valuable skills, and work toward greater financial independence. The income they earn can help support their households, provide for their children’s education, and open doors to opportunities for the next generation.
Grace’s vision is rooted in the belief that when women have access to the right resources and opportunities, they can shape their own futures and help create lasting change for generations to come. Through RiseRahama, that vision is becoming a shared effort, built on the talents, determination, and collective strength of the women involved.
We are honored to welcome RiseRahama to the Elevita artisan community. By connecting these artisans with a broader market, we hope to help their work reach new homes while creating more opportunities for the women behind each piece.
