On Friday, July 19, 2024, Elevita volunteers were warmly welcomed through the gates of Pathway's remarkable School and Children's Home on a farm outside Chennai, India. For 50 years, Pathway has been serving India's most needy children, regardless of caste, creed, or their ability to pay. To welcome guests who had arrived for the jubilee, the children lined the walk in their finest costumes, throwing rice and flower petals, and saluting at every turn.
The students were very proud to showcase their schoolwork to the attentive visitors. They shared very carefully memorized speeches and demonstrated their science experiments. Touring the school facilities and the classrooms was a highlight for everyone!
At Pathway, the disabled children live alongside the able-bodied ones, in an exemplary model that benefits all. This eliminates stigma and creates an environment of understanding, helpfulness, and harmony.
The students had all been preparing for weeks for this grand 50th Jubilee Celebration. They were so pleased to have an audience for their beautiful costumes and impressive dancing!
At the evening program of the Jubilee Celebration, the students performed many well rehearsed cultural dances. Also as part of the ceremony, Elevita volunteers were acknowledged for the support they have given Pathway over the years. It was an evening never to be forgotten!
Elevita volunteers are continually inspired by the amazing work happening at Pathway. Dr. Chandra Prasad and her staff have fully dedicated their lives to serving all within their reach. They are truly changing lives forever! Elevita has been honored to be a part of Pathway's incredible journey.
